I love to read. If I had to choose between only ever being able to read or watch tv again as my entertainment, I’d choose reading with only a slight hesitation.
The idea for Call of the Vampire came to me from my subscription to A Word a Day. The word that day was “Aurorean” – of or belonging to the dawn – and I thought, “What a lovely name Aurora is for a vampire.” But then I thought, “No, Aurora is the name of the girl the vampire loves.” Call of the Vampire pretty much wrote itself after that.
